Parga

"In the green from Olivetrees and Zitrusplantages lying, the houses of the town amphitheatralisch round a bay in which several tiny islets lie directly before the coast." Because of this sentence from Marco-Polo-guide and a foto we took the den Plan in 2001, to look Parga. It should only be a day trip, but Tjakys motorcycle hold us for 2 weeks in the town.

Not as other towns at the coast where the life is only in the harbor promenade, in Parga it´s also in the thin ways up to the hills. Restaurants and bars in all stiles, from rustikal to modern, everything available . There are Countless stores, Goldsmiths and silversmiths, souveniers, clothing, leather things and between the small bars from which it smells enticing.

The best year in Parga - in point of the tourism - was 2002.
And Parga expanded , they supposed, the trend will grow. Villas, from the easy lodging up to the deluxe construction grow up. New lokal were opened. New streets and the canalization was built.

Then the olympic games 2004 were coming. All meaned Greece now is getting expencive - what is not the truth. But the Greece-travelers went back .

At the example of Parga, which we visit every year, we notice the fact that it became quieter especially in the pre- and afterseason. They, who are coming seep almost at the countless hotels and villas. Also the catering trade , which is for more guests, is not so demanded as earlier. In the taverns and restaurants now it is leisurely . No waiter pushes the guest to get the tables free for that which are standing in the waiting loop.

We see at 10 a.m. humanless bathingareas. In the Villa, where we live, we are the once and only and the citchen is only for us.

But the shops and lokals are open, the Pargians like - in difference of other villages - that her village should live also in pre- and afterseason! Not looks like a ghoasttown as others.


Who likes to get rest and likes the full servicel, is in Parga - in pre- and aftersaison - absolutly right. And it cannot be expensive with up to 8,- Euro per night and nose. Cola you need not drink on the promenade with seaview, it is also possible in taverns near the touristic areas. Prize comparisons are worthwhile. We ascertained : away from center, it´s cheaper - also with patrol.

Naturly we were looking for a little bit of sun for Ernstl and his Toy-Run and we see it was possible, only for this year?
