At the highway we have to take the first exit after toll house. As we are leftside the exit, we see the exit to Thivia at our right. It is to late, we are on the new highway to Larissa, but not in our map, we pay 1,- Euro toll and ask on the gasoline station after toll for the right way and if there is another way to Thiva ... no it is not, we have to cross under the highway, and then the second exit to Thiva.
We
do what they tell us. Now in the right direktion we see the police and drive not
so fast. Tjaky and Rudi may pass with their motorbikes, tjey stop Herbert with
the car. We also stop and wait for Herbert. The man from the exekutive
only likes to know where he is coming from, look his Opel Kalibra and combie,
we are together. As Herbert say yes, he is allowed to drive.The second exit out - Thiva is written - ok! Soon we see, there are much camions, because of the traffic hard to take over. Later are slow traces and it is not so hard.
The asphalt is good, but sometimes there is a bad surprise to remind you "drive slow"!
With
a good new built street it is going up to Mt. Pastra and at the other side in
big curves down. A nice view to the wide land like a valley in Austria or Germany.In Thiva we held left and follow the street to Livadia. At the straight way we can test our engines. To Livadia we may not drive, but the street to Delphi is good signed. At one of the gasoline stations we fill our bikes to go direktly to Itea.
A
good decide, over Mt. Parnassos are black cloudes. After Livadia the good built
street is becoming more curvy again and some rain drops are falling to our helmets.
So we have tu drive slow and with care. But it is good and we take it without
problems.In Arachova you should take one of the parcing places, if you like to take photos. The nice village is not with a wide street but nice to drive through. There are many shops and taverns to take a rest, but we like to go to Itea - we have to look for a camping place for the night.
The
wide turns down are lovely, then up to Delphi. As the street is becomming narrow,
we see the places
we visited in 2002.First narrow, than wide, curvy and with good signs down to Itea.
We like to go to Camping Kaparelis. After Itea, direction Desfina, and 300 m after Kira it should be. We find something and it lookes like a closed campingplace. At the next parcing place we stop and Tjaky goes to have a look.
In the heat she noticed after 100 m camping Ayannis. Per "CampINgreece 2003" it should be reached by a field-path, but it is a good congreeted street, and also the mainstreet. It is the only place round Itea, the other two are closed. The selection is not hard.
Back to parking place and drive in.
