The plan is to
begin the travel on monday the 29. of may. There is really bad weather over the
middle of europ and so we start one day earlier. Somewhere in the near from Italy
we will take a room and sleep because it is raining cats and dogs. So we have
2 days fro Vienna to Venice.
At sunday we sleep very well and than the thing come on to the bikes. The departure,
planned for the morning, retards. Refuses somehow the whole of things, which we
prepared to disappear contrary to our past journeys in the suit-cases of our route
machines. We plug and smooth over. It is raining. Both is not good for the nerves.
So we make it as possible. The analysis of the problem is shifted on the first
camping site in Greece.
As the last Greece journey stopped, then this begins: with pouring rain. We, normally
refusing rain garb, leave Vienna in the complete body condom, which we put off
in the evening in our lodging placing.
We start at 1 pm. Fascinating pictures above the motorway: changing lights by
cloud layers and holes set the landscape into film-ripe Special Effects and as
coronation: pouring rain in simultaneous sunshine. The total glare produces the
water up-sharpening from the tires of the cars at day. We drive along the white
line in the right. Over the Wörthersee, which we reach at 7 pm is a big rainbow.
The
rain stops occasionally at short notice and sometimes burns also the sun on us
down, it prevents however building sites (the Pack at 22 km with speed 60 - 80
km/h), as well as tunnel with 60 - 100 km/h restrictions and noise protection
zones from the brisk progress. On a release of the 130 km/h is on the southern
highway toward the south in exceptional cases to be only counted and the police
demonstrates operational readiness level.
(With the return trip toward the north it was substantially better... however
later of it more.)
Hotel Marko
Before the border we leave the motorway. We bend direction Hermagor
and land in Noetsch, where we hold after a private room look out, we find only
the hotel Marko to 69, - euro the double room."Who search, which finds",
we say to us, but the only pension in the place is written off.
The wet begins strengthened from above again,
we decide to take Marko. Our motorcycles get a dry and locked sleep place in the
"summer-house".
A
small disappointment we experience, as we after dinner in the Pizzeria (likewise
Marko) into the room come and find no soap in the bath - with 69, - euro the night
should that standard be. Our soap in the bikes, the bikes locked up, and also
locked the rezeption - we do without showering - Water from above we had enough
on this day already.
In the entire on Fitness and health aligned hotel, so also in the breakfast area,
is smoke forbidden (Alcohol drink is everywhere permitted), thus we move on the
next morning with our cup of coffee in the hand before the door, where it rains
already again easily, and enjoy coffee and cigarette. With long pants, pulli and
rain combination under leather things make ourselves we on toward the south.
Short before Venice it pours, times more times less.
At 3 pm. we reach Anek Lines. After put off the raincoat we drive in the ferry
boat.
Anek Lines - Kriti II
Our
a-wise in the upper deck is very friendly. When he sees that Tjaky does reversing
heavily, he interprets it to descend and pushes the paced Deauville expert onto
the motorcycle parking area. Rudi does more easily - he lets in-park.
The passage becomes calm regarding the friendliness of the personnel and the other
tourists, there is no drinking passengers on bord. Rested in the best way we arrive
punctual on Wednesday against 6 am. at Patras.

- since 5. june 2006 not under the flag of Anek Lines.
