"Paxos - Antipaxos - Blue Caves"

Under this insignificant title you can book a trip, with which you are fully busy for one day.

Captain AugustinusAt 10 o'clock it´s time. The local trip fleet leaves the port of Parga in different directions. The "Vicky F" holds itself easily right. The ship is not written off on this day - in such a way the passengers need not around the places to sun-hit a corner to argue. Our first goal is the small place Loggos on Paxos, which we reach after approximately in- 1 hour travel and which of a mini port as well as some houses consists. The ship puts on here not, parks only a little, so that we can enjoy the traveler sight.

It continues to go to Lakka. There we put on and to have approx.. 1,5 hours time for the free order. First many restaurants with port view have breakfast, then the small town explore in one. Behind the front it continues to go with restaurants and business, which surprises, because one would not have thought Lakka to so much offer capable of at first sight. Here one could spend holidays, if one looks for the absolute peace (particularly in the pre and off-season), without hungry or thyrsty.

After the city round course it is called back to ship. Now suddenly the appearance of the coast changes, as we "left turns". So far if the picture with houses, bays and sailing boats, used of Greek islands, was offered, now the coast offers no more chance, in order to put on. It looks, as if the hills with an enormous knife would have cut through there and the cut off part disappear to let.

The sea gnaws here at the country, scoops out it, clears away it and opens rock formations. In addition combines itself the color of the sea, which, where the underground with aquatic plants is animated, into the low-ink-blue goes, where however the bright sand forms the reason, from the light blue into the shining tuerkis strikes.

Captain Augustinus steers on to one of the small holes in the wall. It looks, as if it wants to drive the ship against the rock. In the last moment it turns off and maneuvers its Vicky into the cave inside, where it stops briefly, so that its passengers can let the color play and the fissured cave walls affect itself.

Each of these caves has a name. We drive inside into the "Ipapandi" ( in the Second World War one ship of the Greek submarine was in it), the "Galazio" and the "Ortholithos".

Some one of the caves broke down in itself. Then the hill has a hole or it forms in its inside a small bay - an impressing nature play. The coast shows new examples again and again, how wind and water can form country. (photographers and Filmer - carry enough memory material and batteries forward!!!)
We drive through at the fissured west coast in the south of Paxos along and between Paxos and Antipaxos, in the second bay the anchor fall. Bathing in the highly transparent water of the bay is announced - perhaps somewhat different.. There is no fishing place, no boat, which brings the bath-willing to the white sand beach. To the bordwall a ladder is hung. Please go to water!

Some dare the jump of deck, some use the ladder, but all are inspired. Now also the bar of the Vicky F. is taken up, which offers all usual drinks.

After the one-hour bath pleasure the machinist starts again the engines. Gaios on Paxos stands as last citys on the program. There the statue of the Georgios Anemojánnis, which was a Turkish ship in the Greek liberty fight against the Osmani realm in the port of Gaios into fire, receives us. Again we have one and a half hours time, in order to explore the long port promenade and the close lanes with the many business and restaurants.

After this last stop we placing at 5:30 p.m. and to reach against 7 p.m. Parga. Over the mountains at the mainland hangs a rain front, which breaks and supplies with the sun standing over the sea a mad color play open of the cloud formations there and there.

It was a beautiful day, partially ashore, partially on lake - partially to and partially in the water. This exit (for us unusually, there not with the motorcycle) is recommended in any case! Sun cream do not forget!

The Vicky F. drives large (25, - euro) and small (15, - euro) routes, whereby with the small route the "Blue Caves" is not included. Only the number of places is limited, - particularly in the main season - a reservation is recommended, e.g. in the Kryoneri travel agency (the price thereby is the same).
