If greek biker celebrate ...
In
Tolo we hear from a bikermeeting in Didima, 4.000 bikers shall come. The plan
says sightseeing in Mykene, but the old stones will not run away. Bikermeetings
in Greece are rare events.
Let us go! The way to Epidaurus we know, but then comes the devil. First we go
to historic Epidaurus. back and right, then we are on the right way to Neo Epidaurus.
There is a signpost to Portoheli, but a big truck bevore. We drive wrong and have
to turn in Neo Epidaurus.
Back
on the right way and the street uphill. Some U- and S-curvs, we are on the crest.
In a cafe we make a rest. In our field of vision a large herd of goat grazes peacefully
on the fenceless meadow beside the road.
For quite some time other bikers comes and passed. It seems they search the bikermeeting
too.
We
shoot beyond the goal, because, were we have to turn, the police with car and
4 man is standing - unbeleavable for us, the police is standing infront of the
meeting.
In Greece it is differently. The exekutive is present, but she will not execute.
There is freedom for four days. The bikers are passing the police without helmet
and without light.
Over a rather bad, narrow road we reach the fixed area, in whose center an enormous,
down-managed hotel block is. And around tents as wide you can look.




Between till 4m
big fire places, shadow spending trees and motorcycles: to 94 % with greece characteristics,
5,9 % without characteristics and the last 0,1 % are from swisserland and germany.


The bikes we see there are incredible! Some are built from many others. A TÜV hwas never seen. Athers are brand new. Sportly driving becomes modern in Greece and it changes from the practicable enduros. As modern it applies also, to take away the back fender, the turn signal and the characteristics also.



The individuality of the bikes show us the philosophie of the greek executiv: It´s not important to typical this changes, but the driver and the bike shall go save and not drunken or under drugs.


Ein Beispiel: It is not important, how big the turn lights are, whether they are certifiedob for this modell, if there is a e-test character or it is noticed in the papers - important is they are on the bike and they are in funktion. And when they will be used, it´s perfekt.


The helmet obligation gives it already for a long time. For two years by the police
- also with punishments - it is made certain that she is kept. It finally to intersperse,
will take probably still some years. Also the motorcycle accessory industry must
be able to produce motorcycle clothing and helmets, which are suitable for temperatures
over 40 °C.

We drive the same way back, but without any mistakes and a little bit faster,
because there are big claudes on the sky. We get back bevore it is raining, we
know: dry streets are dangerous - wet are very dangerous!
