This day a little trip to Sparta is planned. The route, after
some curves straight away, is between the impressing, always snowcovered
Mt. Taigetos.
Spartas
traffic is because of the wide, often with planted refuges less
aggressiv as in other big towns. The exhumations to look, we saved
for us.
More intering for us is the since dezember 2002 opened Olivenoilmuseum.
It is number 129 at the end of Othonos-Amalias St. and is in the
fresh renovated house from elektrizitäty from Sparta.
Entrance: 2,- Euro.
Numerd texttabels (in greece and englisch) lead the guests through
the exhibition and explain historical and objekts.
In 1. floor dokumented the museum the historie from the oiltree
and the olive in Greece with fossil funds till now, where modern
art oiltreetwigs or trees show.
The olive - not only as oil as pikture, also as oil for dinners,
for bath, as soap and as petrol for lightning.
There
are so many types of olives - olive is not olive, we learn -,
as her culture and care.
In the floor you see stones, tools and machines which show how
to preparate oil. You can see 1:10-models from modern preparation.
Also moving from models is possible.
In a little shop you can buy produkts from olive.
Their will be built a historical oil press.
We found the museum more interesting as others.
Apropos Olivoilsoap: We like it, because there is no parfum or
fragance. But we don´t buy it in touristic mile. We found
one in a cardboard for 1,20 Euro, which is more compakt, cremy
and produktive.
